Welcome to Port Isaac
Port Isaac is a working harbour nestled amongst the dramatic cliffs of the north Cornwall coast. It’s narrow winding streets, ancient cottages, spectacular views, access to great walks and choice of excellent pubs and award winning restaurants make Port Isaac a wonderful place to visit at any time of year.
About the cottage..
Geranium Cottage is a traditional fisherman's cottage in the heart of the village. The cottage is tucked just back from the harbour up a quiet lane offering a very peaceful place to stay whilst also being a moments walk from the hustle and bustle of the harbour. The cottage sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms with a lovely sunny courtyard for the summer and a cosy sitting room with log burning stove for the winter.

Beaches
North Cornwall has some of the best beaches in the UK and many are a short drive from Port Isaac. Whether you want family friendly surfing beaches with cafes and shops or wild beaches with no one around there are plenty to choose from.
-
Food
Port Isaac has some great places to eat. The Michelin star seafood chef Nathan Outlaw has two restaurants in the village, one of which is a few seconds walk from the cottage. There is also a great pub in the village and several other choices, from seafood to pasties. There is also a fishmonger on the harbour who sells the lobsters and crabs caught by the Port Isaac fishermen.
Padstow also offers lots of excellent restaurants including Rick Stein’s, Michelin starred Paul Ainsworth and our favourite Prawn on the Lawn. Padstow is a 30 min drive around the estuary or a few minutes on the foot ferry from Rock.
-
Walks
Port Isaac is a great base from which to enjoy the South West Coast Path. There are great walks right from the door step of Geranium Cottage, great circular walks around the headlands of Pentire or Trevose, beach walks at Daymer and Trebarwith or adventures to be had discovering King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel.
-
Day Trips
If you fancy a day trip there is lots of choice, from the world famous Eden Project to the Tate in St Ives, the Lost Gardens of Heligan or the subtropical gardens at Trebah. The Camel Trail bike path, the spectacular outdoor Minack theatre, or a gentle motor boat trip up the Helford River. There are endless adventures to be had.
Guest access
Geranium Cottage is at the heart of the old village and the lanes are very narrow. We are therefore very lucky to have a private parking space next to the harbour. This means you can come and go from the village with ease and you don’t have to navigate any narrow lanes if you don’t want to. It is possible to drive to the cottage to drop off luggage/people should you want to and we can give you directions how to do this, you just can’t leave the car outside as it blocks access for other cottages. The parking space is situated at the Old School House Hotel, looking out over the harbour, roughly a 2-3 min walk. One of the best parking spots in the village (in our opinion!).
Dogs
Dogs are welcome but we ask that they stay downstairs. Port Isaac harbour/beach is open to dogs all year round, as is Port Gaverne beach.
Winter in Port Isaac
We love winter in Cornwall. There are few better places for hunkering down during those cold wintery nights than Port Isaac. Wild walks on dramatic empty beaches can be followed by fire lit evenings as the waves outside crash against the harbour wall. Some people only think of visiting Cornwall in the summer but we highly recommend winter weekends in Port Isaac.
